Begonia amphioxus - Butterfly Cane-Like Begonia
Regular price $350.00Endemic to Sabah, Borneo this plant is very striking with thin light green pointed leaves with red edging and red polkadots. It is a cane-like begonia that grows like a shrub. Its botanical name comes from the words “anthe,” meaning “both” and “axes” suggesting pointy, unusual spear shaped leaves tapered at both ends

Light: Bright indirect light, Category 3-4 (please see our blog on plant light requirements)
Soil: Indoor mix (please see our blog on soil requirements)
Fertiliser: As directed on your fertiliser of choice. Fortnightly or monthly during the growing season
Watering: Don't over water, they like to dry out between waterings.
Maintenance: This plant requires high humidity to thrive. Prune back foliage during growing season to encourage thicker, more compact growth. Do not allow water droplets to remain on the leaves as it can lead to fungal diseases.

Please note that we use 'Bugs for Bugs' regularly as a preventative control measure for pests. These predatory bugs are administered in vermiculite. This vermiculite is sprinkles onto the leaves and sometimes remains.
