This plant is perfect as an indoor plant loving bright indirect light and warmth. This Calathea was recently reclassified to Geoppertia. The leaves are a light green on top and develop a vibrant wine red underneath as the plant matures. Each leaf and stem is covered in fine hairs like a whispy fur coat The stunning leaves in this genera have earned the name Peacock plant as its all about the leaves for these showy plants. A member of the "Prayer Plant" family - distinctively the leaves open in the day to the sun and close up at night, a slow but beautiful daily dance that the leaves perform every day.

Watering: Best watered with rain water or distilled water as salts and minerals can build up and cause brown leaf edges, while its not necessary for every water it helps flush excess salt from the soil. Don't over water, they like to dry out slightly between waterings. Water when top 1-2 inches of soil is dry.
Don't place next to a draught, use preventative fungal treatment spray on the leaves. Don't let leaves remain wet for long periods.
