Ficus elastica is a classic houseplant, renowned for its low maintenance nature and attractive foliage. Its rubbery leaves are dark and glossy with red/purple undersides, new growth emerges a beautiful pink/purple and fades to dark emerald with purple stems.

Fertiliser: As directed on your fertiliser of choice. Fortnightly or monthly during the growing season (please see our blog on plant food)
Watering: Don't over water, whilst not letting the plant dry out completely. Let it dry to 80% before watering again.
Maintenance: Figs drop their leaves if they experience drought. If colours fade and look dull its an indicator that it requires brighter/more light. If kept indoors wipe leaves free of dust regularly.
