Commonly known as "Waves of Love" due to its wavy, frilly margins of its large leathery green leaves. A tropical epiphyte that will grow large in a shaded garden or look beautiful in a pot near a brightly lit window.
Current Pot Size: 100mm
Synonyms: Bird Nest Anthurium, Anthurium amplum
Light: Filtered light to bright indirect - Category 3-4 (please see our blog on plant light requirements)
Soil: Well draining, moisture retaining - Soil type x (please see our blog on soil requirements)
Fertiliser: Anthuriums naturally grow in areas of heavy leaf litter and rich in organic matter so they should be fertilised regularly during growing season. Apply as directed on your fertiliser of choice. Fortnightly or monthly during the growing season (please see our blog on plant food)
Watering: Don't over water, whilst not letting the plant dry out completely.
Maintenance: They like humidity and to never dry out completely otherwise the leaves will become crispy.
Flowers: Yes but this plant is not acquired for them. Flowers grow as spadices from the centre on the plant and droop down as they get heavy with fruiting berries (non edible)
