Current Pot Size: 100mm
Synonyms: Tree houseleek, Aeonium variegata
Origin: Africa and The Canary Islands (species origin)
Light: Full sun to filtered light - Category 1-3 (please see our blog on plant light requirements)
Soil: Succulent mix (please see our blog on soil requirements)
Fertiliser: As directed on your fertiliser of choice. Fortnightly or monthly during the growing season
Watering: Don't over water, they like to dry out a little between waterings. Aeoniums have shallow root systems and store water in their leaves and thick stems. Unlike other succulents, which prefer dryer soil, Aeoniums prefer soil that is often moist but not wet.
Maintenance: Trim back to make the plant even bushier and promote growth of pups.
Dormancy: Triggered by temperature - starting late Summer and regrowth begins late Autumn.
Flowering: Each rosette is 'Monocarpic' meaning 'once flowering'. Given enough light, star shaped yellow flowers form from the centre of mature rosettes during spring and summer, the rosette will die after flowering so leaf propagation is recommended.
