Aeschynanthus
Aeschynanthus is a genus of plants including approximately 150 species of evergreen plants in the family Gesneriaceae (gesneriades). Native to tropical and subtropical regions of South Asia, they are typically trailing epiphytes with brightly coloured flowers that are long and trumpet shaped and give the plant the nickname “lipstick plant”, it is also known as “shame flower” as the flower has the appearance of a bowed head - Its name stems from the Greek word 'auschune', meaning shame and 'anthos', meaning flower.
